About

I am a painter based in Amsterdam, working exclusively with oil on linen. My practice centers on gesture, movement, and material presence. Through a disciplined studio process, I translate emotional intensity and inner tension into layered surfaces and physical rhythm.

My work is direct and physical. It does not aim to please everyone, nor does it soften its edges. The phrase “Not for everyone” reflects that position. The paintings ask for attention and engagement. They are built through tension, repetition, and release. Rather than illustrating a story, I aim to make energy and emotion tangible through paint itself.

Painting has long been a constant in my life. Alongside a demanding professional career, it remained a steady and personal practice, gradually evolving into a full-time commitment. Today, I work from my studio in Amsterdam, developing a cohesive body of work titled The Gesture Series.

Over the years, I have repeatedly returned to different parts of Asia, where I continue to find strong inspiration. The discipline, focus, and respect for process that I encounter there resonate deeply with my approach to painting. These experiences influence how I think about repetition, restraint, and presence within the studio.

Each canvas is the result of sustained focus, material resistance, and the willingness to stay with a surface until something essential reveals itself.
